How to make Irish Coffee

Honestly there are a ton of ways to make this, as always try and experiment until you find the recipe you enjoy the most.  The recipe we have here is the original, tried and true.

Irish Coffee

Irish coffee is a popular drink that combines coffee, Irish whiskey, sugar, and cream. It was first created in the 1940s by a chef at Foynes airport in Ireland, who served it to cold and tired travelers as a pick-me-up. Here is a step-by-step recipe for making Irish coffee:

  1. Fill a heat-resistant glass (such as a coffee mug or Irish coffee glass) with hot water and let it sit for a minute to warm up the glass. Discard the hot water.

  2. In a French Press, add a 1/2 cup of Moon Coffee ground, pour 1 cup of hot water (Heat until it reaches a boil. Let it stand for thirty seconds before adding it to the French Press) Stir the mixture and let it steep for 4 minutes.

  3. While the coffee is steeping, add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the warmed glass.

  4. Pour the brewed coffee into the glass, filling it about 3/4 full.

  5. Add 1 1/2 ounces of Irish whiskey to the glass.

  6. In a separate bowl, whip 1/2 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form.

  7. Slowly pour the whipped cream over the back of a spoon, allowing it to float on top of the coffee.

  8. Serve the Irish coffee immediately, with a small spoon for stirring the cream if desired. Enjoy!

Other Options instead of Whiskey, try a cream liquor for a sweeter drink.  Add what ever you like and it will taste great.
